Bacchanal Promotions is a fully insured Detroit based entertainment company specializing in circus performance, fire arts, and tribal-fusion belly-dance. Andrew and Lex D'Ascenzo offer stage performance, strolling entertainment, and instruction in a variety of performance arts. Founded in 2007, Bacchanal has performed their unique blend of entertainment at hundreds of events throughout the United States and Canada.
Lex got her start belly-dancing in 2000, training and performing with several groups while perfecting her own style. She began performing with fire in 2006, learning fire fans, fire fingers and fire eating. Combining a mastery of belly-dance with an intimate knowledge of fire performance, Lex has risen to become one of the most talented performers in her field. She has since added stilt walking and jumping stilt acrobatics to her already powerful entertainment arsenal.
Andrew started out spinning poi at at 17, and after a few years practicing almost exclusively alone, began using fire and performing publicly. He then traveled the continent, learning from top performers from Toronto to San Francisco. While creating a unique technical poi style, Andrew also developed other arts including fire staff, fire breathing, and contact juggling. For almost a decade, Andrew has dedicated his life to performance art, and risks his life on a daily basis with acts such as sword swallowing, performing flips on stilts, and many others.
Since founding Bacchanal Promotions, Lex and Andrew have pioneered many aspects of their current acts, pushing the boundaries of circus entertainment. They have combined their talents with other world-class artists to offer our clients a wide variety of acts, with almost limitless possibilities.
